Accounting Assistant Manager - Sushi Express (Thailand) Co.,Ltd.

Key Responsibilities

1. General Accounting & G/L Management

Oversee all accounting transactions and ensure accuracy of G/L operations.

Review and ensure journal entries, adjustments, and monthly postings are correct and timely.

Maintain proper accounting records in accordance with Thai GAAP and accepted auditing standards.

2. Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.

Review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure completeness and accuracy.

Ensure all financial reports are submitted on time and reflect accurate operational performance.

3. Compliance & Taxation

Manage all statutory compliance, coordinating with external auditors and the Revenue Department.

Review monthly tax submissions (VAT, WHT, PND 3/53, etc.) and prepare annual tax requirements.

Oversee tax planning, tax management, and ensure full adherence to all tax regulations.

4. Internal Controls

Establish, monitor, and improve finance & accounting internal control procedures.

Ensure controls comply with local standards and company policies.

5. Team Leadership

Supervise accounting team members; provide coaching, training, and performance guidance.

Oversee daily accounting tasks and ensure timely completion of team deliverables.

6. Process Improvement

Identify and propose improvements to accounting processes, workflows, systems, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Coordinate with Finance, Operations, and cross-functional teams regarding process enhancement.

7. Other Responsibilities

Handle ad-hoc assignments as required by management.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting.

• At least 5 years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years supervising or leading an accounting team.

• Hands-on experience managing the full month-end and year-end close, including reviewing accounting entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing or reviewing financial statements.

• Strong knowledge of Thai financial reporting standards, VAT, withholding tax, and corporate income tax, with experience coordinating with external auditors.

• Ability to investigate unusual transactions, identify the causes of discrepancies, and work with relevant teams to resolve them.

• Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and account reconciliation, with experience using accounting software or an ERP system.

• Ability to plan the close, delegate tasks, coach team members, and ensure deadlines are met.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in food service, retail, or a multi-location business, particularly in reconciling POS sales against payments received.
