Responsibilities
- Infrastructure & Network: Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, wireless networks, and related equipment.
- Server, Virtualization & Cloud: Install, configure, and manage Windows/Linux servers, VMware, Nutanix HCI, AIX, storage, and cloud environments such as AWS and Azure.
- Application & Platform Reliability: Support and troubleshoot applications and services running on the infrastructure, including application platforms, system dependencies, connectivity, availability, and performance.
- Containerization & Automation: Implement and maintain Kubernetes (K8s), Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or Ansible, and support CI/CD pipelines for system deployment.
- Monitoring & Observability: Design and enhance monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and observability capabilities covering infrastructure and application performance, availability, and capacity.
- Incident Management: Investigate production incidents and major system issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and recommend preventive improvements and automated recovery where applicable.
- Infrastructure Security: Manage firewall and VPN policies, mail gateway security, security patching, vulnerability assessments, and related security controls.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery: Manage backup policies across virtualization, AIX, and cloud environments; conduct data restoration testing; and support high availability and disaster recovery planning.
- Enterprise Infrastructure Services: Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft 365 email services, web hosting, domain names, SSL certificates, and related infrastructure services.
- Project Implementation: Plan, coordinate, and support infrastructure and application platform projects, including system installation, configuration, implementation, and enhancement.
- Maintenance & Compliance: Coordinate preventive maintenance, maintenance agreements, external vendors, cybersecurity monitoring, and ISO 27001 audit requirements.
- Documentation & Technical Improvement: Prepare technical documentation and infrastructure diagrams, provide technical guidance to team members, and contribute to infrastructure standards and technology improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, System Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or related technical roles.
- Knowledge of enterprise networking, including LAN/WAN, wireless networks, switches, and network troubleshooting.
- Hands-on knowledge of server infrastructure, virtualization, and storage technologies such as Windows/Linux, VMware, Nutanix, or AIX.
- Understanding of infrastructure security, including firewalls, VPN, Active Directory, Group Policy, and mail gateway systems.
- Knowledge of application hosting environments, web hosting, domain management, and the relationship between applications and underlying infrastructure.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, or automation technologies is an advantage.
- Understanding of monitoring, system availability, performance troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and incident management.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with internal teams and external vendors.
- Ability to provide technical support outside regular working hours or on holidays when required.
