Responsibilities
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes, including jig, fixture, and tool design.
- Prepare and issue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or Work Instructions (WIs), conduct line balancing, and determine cycle times.
- Perform root cause analysis, implement yield improvement initiatives, and drive scrap reduction efforts.
- Resolve production issues within the assembly line and address customer feedback related to process performance.
- Create and maintain comprehensive production documentation for machines, jigs, fixtures, tools, and product-related assembly processes.
- Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and Process Change Notices (PCN) from both customers and internal teams.
- Lead and manage project schedules, assigning tasks to subordinates as required.
- Conduct parts and product qualification and verification, optimizing for loss reduction when issues are identified.
- Support product design improvement initiatives, including trials and evaluations for local parts or secondary suppliers.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on new processes and equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth production processes.
- Support general assembly line-related process engineering activities to maintain smooth operations.
- Perform other assigned tasks as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Process Engineering, or Industrial Engineering, with a focus on design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks 3D software for designing jigs, fixtures, tools, and production line layouts.
- Experience in process design and improvement.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement yield improvement strategies.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Demonstrated leadership potential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and MS 365.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and ISO 9001 standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (speaking, writing, and reading), demonstrated by a fluent English test result.
