Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) programs, inspection recipes, and processes for both new and existing products.
- Monitor and improve AOI performance KPIs, including False Call Rate (FCR), Defect Escape Rate, First Pass Yield (FPY), and inspection efficiency.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve AOI inspection standards, acceptance criteria, and inspection guidelines.
- Perform detailed defect image analysis, defect classification, and failure analysis to support process improvement.
- Investigate AOI-related issues by analyzing inspection data, NG trends, and root causes, then implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead AOI process qualification, validation, and machine acceptance (buy-off) activities for new equipment and production lines.
- Optimize AOI programs to improve detection accuracy while minimizing false calls.
- Collaborate with Production, Process Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Equipment teams to resolve AOI process and inspection issues.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training to technicians and operators.
- Prepare and maintain AOI process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process capability, and manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in AOI inspection within the electronics manufacturing industry, preferably in Die Bond, Wire Bond, or other semiconductor backend processes.
- Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and quality management systems.
- Solid understanding of Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), machine vision, and image processing is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis, defect trend analysis, root cause analysis, and continuous process improvement.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Chinese language skills are an advantage.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional teamwork skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AOI programming, recipe optimization, and machine debugging.
- Familiarity with SPC, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other quality improvement methodologies.
- Experience working in the semiconductor or electronics manufacturing industry.
