Responsibilities
Owns strategy and technical SEO for the media network, guides how AI-assisted articles are produced and improved for search, and supports the wider team wherever search affects brand trust, reviews and visibility.
Strategy
- Set market-level SEO strategy and target keywords together with the Senior Strategist.
- Prioritise which sites, markets and topics to invest in based on search demand and competition.
Technical SEO / SEM
- Lead technical SEO/SEM with the developer: site structure, multilingual setup, sitemaps, structured data, site speed and crawler access, including for AI-powered search.
- Find and fix indexing problems, broken pages and duplicate content. Authority and visibility
- Plan and earn links from relevant external websites, following search engine guidelines.
- Shape content so it is easy for search engines and AI assistants to understand and cite.
AI-assisted content
- Understand how our AI content system produces articles, including its sources, prompts and fact-checking, and advise the developer on improvements for search quality.
- Set standards so AI-assisted articles add genuine value, stay accurate, and follow search engine guidance on AI-generated and large-scale content.
- Review AI-drafted articles for search intent, structure and originality, and recommend which to update, merge or remove.
- Define what human editors should add to AI drafts, such as local context, practical examples and expert review.
Team development
- Coach the team on SEO, and review SEO reporting before it goes to management.
Supporting the wider team
- Support reputation work by monitoring how a product appears in search results and AI answers, and advising on how to improve it.
- Advise on how reviews, ratings and app store listings show up in search, including app store optimisation.
- Align keyword priorities across search and social so content works on every channel.
- Give editors and freelancers clear SEO requirements in their briefs.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of SEO experience, including multilingual or multi-country websites.
- Strong technical SEO skills and experience working with developers.
- Experience with finance or other high-trust (YMYL) topics is an advantage.
- Fluent with Ahrefs or similar SEO tools.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted or large-scale content production, and a solid understanding of search engine guidance on AI-generated content.
- Comfortable working across teams, including social media, content operations and reputation.
