Responsibilities

  • Set up and optimize SMT processes, including solder paste printing, SPI, pick and place, reflow, and AOI.
  • Investigate defects such as solder bridging, open solder joints, tombstoning, and component misalignment. Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor production yield, defect rates, and First Pass Yield (FPY), and lead process improvement activities.
  • Prepare and maintain work instructions, SOPs, process flows, and control plans.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), trial production, process validation, and transfer to mass production.
  • Work with Production, Quality, and Equipment teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Train operators and technicians on SMT processes and work standards.

    • Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
    • Experience in SMT processes or electronics manufacturing.
    • Knowledge of solder paste printing, SPI, pick and place, reflow, and AOI.
    • Ability to analyze problems using tools such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams
    • Good communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

    Job Summary
    The SMT Process Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving SMT production process. The role focuses on resolving process issues, reducing defects, and improving yield and production efficiency. It also supports NPI and works closely with Production, Quality, and Equipment teams to ensure a smooth transition to mass production.
