Responsibilities

  • Implement the Lean for All program within the terminal operations.
  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions, primarily focusing on Lean for All (LFA) and operational system trainings, to develop Lean skills and tools, and cultivate future trainers from the frontline workforce.
  • Serve as a local change agent, driving cultural transformation and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to employees at all levels, from senior leaders to frontline workers, focusing on behavior confirmation, role modeling, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Foster strong relationships with the frontline workforce, collaborate with the WoW lead on excellence program synergies, partner with HR on personal development initiatives, and establish influence within the local SMT.
  • Collaborate and coach local management teams to ensure the relevance and successful execution of Lean programs.
  • Engage closely with key local stakeholders to align Lean initiatives.
  • Promote and embed a culture and mindset of continuous change, with a specific emphasis on the frontline workforce.
  • Champion the 8 fundamental Lean tools and cultivate a problem-solving mindset throughout the organization.
  • Model Lean for All principles, including maintaining exemplary 5S standards, actively utilizing visual management, and applying problem-solving methodologies.
  • Oversee the local delivery of the Lean for All Program, ensuring adherence to its original spirit and objectives.
  • Lead and manage the overall Training Within Industry (TWI) program to enhance operational standards, workforce skill development, and workplace safety.
  • Direct and manage the TWI Master to ensure all activities align with organizational goals.
  • Drive the effective execution of TWI principles across Job Instruction (JI), Job Safety (JS), and Job Relations (JR).
  • Ensure the standardization of documents and training processes, maintaining compliance with company objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (or equivalent).
  • 7-10 years of experience in Lean management or a continuous improvement role.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous personal growth and improvement.
  • Self-motivated with a drive for excellence and exceeding expectations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across all levels, particularly with frontline staff.
  • Strong leadership skills with 3-5 years of experience working with management teams.
  • Adaptability to constant change and flexible working team environments.
  • Ability to present content concisely and simply for understanding, and to answer questions clearly.
  • Ability to respect confidentiality clauses and act with discretion.
  • Ability to be compassionate, helpful, sincere, friendly, and sensitive to employee needs.
  • Ability to earn an influential position within the inner circle of the MD and senior staff.
  • Proficiency in demonstrating the Academy’s value to the tactical and strategic goals of the terminal.
  • Terminal experience is a plus.
