Product Engineer - Sony Device Technology (Thailand) Co.,Ltd

• Maintain and control complete product information packages for new and existing product types, including product structure (BoM), material specifications, and product performance specifications (Product Spec)

• Issue and manage material requisitions required to support prototype and sample runs in coordination with the NPI and Production teams

• Develop and manage sample run schedules, coordinating cross-functionally with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, and Production to ensure on-time sample completion and accurate reporting to HQ

• Oversee shipment of sample products to HQ and customers, ensuring all accompanying documentation meets technical and quality traceability requirements

• Author, maintain, and revise core quality documentation including Design/Process FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), FACA (Failure Analysis and Corrective Action) reports, and related IATF 16949 core tool documents (Control Plan, MSA, PPAP where applicable)

• Lead and support internal and external quality audits (including IATF 16949 surveillance and customer audits)

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in a quality engineering, product engineering, or process engineering role within an electronics or semiconductor manufacturing environment; fresh graduates with strong relevant internship or senior project experience in quality systems or product documentation are welcome to apply.

• Working knowledge of FMEA methodology (DFMEA and/or PFMEA) and quality management systems aligned to IATF 16949 or ISO 9001.

• Strong technical writing ability; capable of producing clear, structured engineering documents, reports, and specifications in English.

• Functional English proficiency for written and verbal communication with overseas counterparts; TOEIC score of 550 or above is advantageous but not required for application.

• Systematic problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to conduct structured root cause and defect analysis.

Preferred qualifications:

• Direct experience supporting IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3 internal or external audits in a manufacturing environment.

• Familiarity with APQP core tool documents: Control Plan, MSA, PPAP, and SPC fundamentals.

• Experience in semiconductor back-end assembly or testing environments (image sensor, CMOS, or automotive-grade devices advantageous).

• Proficiency in data tools: Excel (VBA/Macros), Minitab, JMP, or Power BI for defect trend analysis and reporting automation.

• Basic Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N4 or above) to support direct HQ communication; language allowance provided for continued JLPT advancement.

• Exposure to change management processes such as Engineering Change Notice (ECN) or Process Change Request (PCR) workflows.
