Testing Engineer – Technical Department - CHEC (THAI) CO.,LTD.

• Electrical Testing Execution: Perform and oversee specialized insulation resistance 

testing (Megger), contact resistance testing (Ductor), breaker primary/secondary injection 

testing, and power quality analysis on switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems. 

• Mechanical Testing Execution: Conduct air and water balancing verification (TAB), 

hydrostatic pressure testing on piping networks, duct leakage testing, and thermal 

imaging (thermography) scans of electrical terminations and mechanical plant 

components. 

• Load Bank Operations: Set up, calibrate, and operate temporary load banks (inductive 

and resistive) and server simulators to safely stress-test critical power and cooling 

systems. 

• Equipment Calibration: Manage, calibrate, and maintain the department’s suite of 

precision testing instruments (e.g., power quality analyzers, thermal cameras, multi

meters, flow meters). 

• Data Logging & Analysis: Set up data-logging parameters on building control systems 

(BMS/EPMS) to capture real-time transients, voltage drops, and temperature spikes 

during stress tests. 

• Technical Reporting: Interpret raw data curves and translate them into structured, highly 

technical test reports validating that equipment performance meets manufacturer 

specifications. 

• First-Line Troubleshooting: When a test fails or an anomaly occurs, perform immediate 

diagnostic checks to determine if the issue stems from a component defect, installation 

error, or incorrect control logic. 

• Technical Liaison: Collaborate directly with equipment factory field technicians and the 

design engineering team to resolve complex technical anomalies identified during testing. 

• Safety Isolation Compliance: Strictly adhere to and enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) 

protocols, ensuring all live components are safely isolated before testing instruments are 

attached.

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical 

Engineering, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering. 

• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of direct, hands-on field testing experience in critical 

environments (data centers, heavy industrial plants, substations, or marine engineering). 

• Technical Knowledge: 

o Strong capability to read and interpret complex Electrical Single-Line Diagrams 

(SLDs), schematic drawings, Control Loop Diagrams, and P&IDs. 

o Familiarity with international testing standards (e.g., NETA testing specifications, 

IEEE, IEC, ASHRAE guidelines). 

• Tool & Software Skills: Proficient with professional diagnostic software and data 

analysis tools. Experience using specialized testing hardware brands (e.g., Fluke, Megger, 

Omicron, FLIR). 

• Laser-Focused Attention to Detail: Ability to spot minute deviations in raw waveform 

data, vibration patterns, or thermal signatures that indicate latent equipment failure. 

• Methodical Approach: Disciplined execution of repetitive testing procedures without 

cutting corners, ensuring absolute consistency in test data. 

• Physical Dexterity & Field Safety: Comfort working in active construction 

environments, dealing with energized high-voltage systems, and moving heavy testing 

instrumentation safely.
