About the role

We are seeking a Material Procurement Specialist to join CHEC (THAI) COMPANY LIMITED in Trang on a contract basis. This role is pivotal to ensuring efficient sourcing, procurement, and inventory management of materials required for our manufacturing and logistics operations. As a Material Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining optimal inventory levels whilst ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality standards. This position requires fluency in either Chinese or English, making it ideal for multilingual professionals who can bridge communication across our international operations. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to support the smooth flow of materials throughout our supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Source and identify potential suppliers for required materials, conducting thorough market research and comparative analysis

• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure competitive rates and favourable terms

• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards

• Monitor inventory levels and implement systems to maintain optimal stock quantities, minimising waste and storage costs

• Track material deliveries, verify receipt of goods, and manage any discrepancies or quality issues

• Maintain comprehensive procurement records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes

• Communicate with suppliers, internal departments, and stakeholders in Chinese or English as required

• Analyse procurement data and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and international procurement standards

• Support inventory forecasting and planning activities based on production requirements

What we're looking for

• Fluency in either Chinese or English (both languages highly advantageous)

• Proven experience in material procurement, purchasing, or inventory management within manufacturing or logistics sectors

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships

• Proficiency in procurement software and systems, or demonstrated ability to quickly master new technologies

• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices

• Ability to analyse data and make cost-effective procurement decisions

• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments

• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities

• Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain management, or business administration (preferred)
