Responsibilities
- Issue purchase orders (PO) and procure raw materials, including denim/raw fabric and sewing trims, ensuring quality and timeliness align with production plans.
- Purchase general office supplies and consumables.
- Verify material readiness prior to production and prepare materials for the design and development team.
- Manage raw material and fabric stock, conducting monthly spot-checks and tracking movement to prevent inventory errors.
- Maintain a fabric and trim library database, demonstrating an understanding of material properties such as fabric width, weight, and construction.
- Plan cutting schedules with the production team and coordinate fabric delivery timing with suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery timelines with both domestic and international suppliers.
- Compare prices and quality across multiple vendors to secure the best cost without compromising quality.
- Maintain an up-to-date supplier database, pricing records, and comprehensive purchasing documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Management, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of experience in purchasing. Recent graduates with strong negotiation skills are welcome to apply.
- Strong negotiation, cost analysis, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and with a high degree of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of textiles, denim, or the apparel industry is a plus.
- Good English communication skills for liaising with international suppliers.
