Responsibilities

The Manager of Sourcing & Purchasing is responsible for the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from strategic supplier development to day-to-day purchasing execution. This role ensures that AITC has a robust, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of raw materials (laminates, chemistry, copper) and services necessary for PCB production, while maintaining optimal inventory levels and driving/ achieving cost-reduction targets. 

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities & Duties 

1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development 

  • PCB Commodity Strategy: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for critical PCB materials including Copper Clad Laminates (CCL), Prepreg, dry film, plating chemicals, and specialized drill bits, etc. 

  • Supplier Qualification: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors, ensuring they meet AITC’s stringent technical standards for PCB manufacturing and quality. 

  • Cost Management: Benchmark prices for raw materials and chemicals; perform "Value Engineering" to identify alternative materials that increase material profit without compromising board integrity. 

  • Risk Mitigation: Assess supply chain risks related to environmental regulations (e.g., REACH/RoHS), chemical shortages, or price fluctuations in precious metals (Gold/Silver) and copper. 

  • Performance Tracking: Manage supplier performance through KPIs, focusing on delivery precision and the quality of chemical batches and laminates. 

2. Purchasing Operations & Execution 

  • Workflow Management: Plan and oversee the daily activities of the Buying team to ensure accurate processing of Purchase Orders (POs). 

  • Inventory Control: Coordinate with Production and Logistics to monitor inventory levels of perishable chemicals and high-value substrates to prevent stockouts or overstock. 

  • Delivery Scheduling: Ensure the timely fulfillment of orders to align with PCB production batches and lead times. 

  • Issue Resolution: Lead the escalation process for material shortages or quality discrepancies, working directly with suppliers to minimize production downtime. 

3. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Technical Alignment: Work closely with the Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE), and Marketing teams to align supplier capabilities with customer-specific PCB requirements (e.g., impedance control, HDI). 

  • Team Development: Mentor, train, and conduct performance evaluations for the purchasing and sourcing staff to foster professional growth. 

  • Policy Enforcement: Develop and enforce procurement policies and ethical guidelines within the department. 

Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (Chemical or Industrial preferred), Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration. 

  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of professional experience in sourcing and procurement, with a significant portion dedicated to PCB manufacturing or the electronic components industry. 

  • Technical Expertise: 

  • Deep knowledge of PCB cost structures, including laminate grades (FR-4, High-Speed Digital) and plating processes. 

  • Understanding of the "Supplier Preferencing Model" (Nuisance, Exploitable, Development, Core) and "Supplier Positional Model" (Routine, Leverage, Bottleneck, Critical). 

Skills: 

  • Advanced negotiation skills for long-term contract management. 

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel). 

  • Strong command of English for international vendor communication. 

  • Understanding of Digital Transformation/ AI tools  to improve functions efficiency. 

Soft Skills: Analytical decision-making, leadership, risk management, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
