Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce environmental standards, including waste management, wastewater management, noise, and pollution control, to prevent health hazards and promote good environmental practices.
- Develop and implement environmental policies, procedures, training programs, and sustainability plans to ensure compliance and reduce environmental impact.
- Stay informed on environmental legislation and regulations, ensuring all recommendations are implemented to meet required standards and maintaining accurate records.
- Implement, manage, and maintain the organization's Environmental Management System (EMS) and Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) management system, ensuring alignment with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and site inspections to identify areas for improvement.
- Respond to environmental emergencies and investigate complaints or violations from the public.
- Oversee wastewater treatment, waste management, and pollution control, including the development and implementation of waste reduction and recycling programs.
- Collect, validate, and analyze environmental performance data (e.g., GHG emissions, air quality, water usage, waste generation) from company operations, and coordinate third-party verification of GHG data.
- Perform regular environmental inspections and audits to ensure adherence to all environmental measures and standards.
- Organize environmental awareness programs for employees and contractors.
- Maintain accurate environmental documentation and records, including waste disposal annual reports and training records.
- Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in environmental management or a related field.
- Possess relevant Environmental Control Licenses, including Waste Management, Wastewater Treatment, and Air Pollution Control.
- Good understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (OHSE) laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of Sustainability principles and practices.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
