Responsibilities

To lead and direct the company's strategic procurement and sourcing operations, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of all necessary goods, services, and, critically, outsource manufacturing capacity and technology. This role is responsible for developing strategic sourcing initiatives, leading complex contract negotiations, managing the procurement team, and fostering key supplier/co-packer relationships to achieve significant cost savings, enhance quality, and ensure the competitive edge of the company.


1. Strategic Sourcing & Co-Packer Management

• Manufacturing Sourcing Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to identify, evaluate, and qualify high-performance contract manufacturers (co-packers) with the necessary technology, efficiency, and food safety standards to meet business growth needs.

• Supplier & Material Strategy: Develop and implement procurement strategies for food raw materials, packaging, and consumables that align with quality, factory efficiency, and business objectives. 

• Contract Negotiation: Lead high-stakes negotiations with key suppliers and co-packers to secure optimal pricing, favorable terms, long-term supply agreements, and guaranteed capacity. 

• Performance and Quality Assurance: Establish and manage a rigorous supplier/co-packer evaluation and performance management framework to ensure strict adherence to quality, food safety, and ethical standards. 

2. Planning, Inventory, and Risk Management

• Material Planning Oversight: Oversee the execution of the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process for all food production, ensuring timely and accurate input into the procurement cycle. 

• Demand Forecasting Input: Direct the analysis and forecasting of demand for raw materials and packaging to optimize inventory levels and support the planning function. 

• Inventory Policy: Establish and enforce material inventory management policies to minimize working capital tied up in stock, considering the short shelf life of raw materials, and actively preventing write-offs. 

• Supply Resilience: Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with critical suppliers to drive innovation and ensure supply chain resilience, guaranteeing the timely delivery of materials to all domestic and international co-packers. 

3. Team Leadership and Continuous Improvement (CI)

• Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team (including Purchase and Sourcing Executives) to build a high-performance, analytically driven culture. 

• KPI Management: Set and monitor departmental key performance indicators (KPIs), such as Cost Savings achieved (as a percentage of spend), Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD), supplier performance, and inventory turnover. 

• Process CI: Drive the continuous improvement of procurement processes and systems (e.g., leveraging ERP functionality) to enhance efficiency, speed, and effectiveness. 

• Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive, strategic reports on procurement performance, cost-saving initiatives, and market trends for senior management.


Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, with significant exposure to strategic sourcing in the FMCG or Food & Beverage industry. *Proven track record in sourcing and managing Contract Manufacturing relationships.

• Professional certification (e.g., CIPS(Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)) is highly desirable.

• Strategic Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills and extensive experience in complex contract drafting and management. 

• Analytical & Systems Proficiency: Proficiency in procurement software and tools (ERP) and advanced Excel skills. 

• Proficient in English

• Relationship Management: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to manage critical supplier/co-packer partnerships. 

• Detail Orientation: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially concerning compliance and quality specifications.
