Responsibilities
- Assist in provisioning and maintaining cloud resources, such as compute and storage
- Assist in managing minor networking tasks such as updating NSG rules, DNS records, and basic troubleshooting
- Provision and set up environments for development teams to support testing, and research work
- Help configure and deploy application workloads on Kubernetes by writing and updating manifests
- Help monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters and running workloads
- Support development teams by deploying and configuring their services on existing infrastructure
- Monitor system health, respond to alerts, and assist in troubleshooting incidents
- Document configurations, runbooks, and operational procedures
Qualifications
Technical Qualifications
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Cloud Platforms: 1–3 years of hands-on experience provisioning and maintaining resources in a major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
Containers & Orchestration
- Kubernetes (K8s): Practical experience writing and updating Kubernetes manifests (yaml), deploying workloads, and managing basic components (Pods, Deployments, Services, ConfigMaps).
- Containerization: Familiarity with Docker for building and containerizing applications.
Networking & Security
- Core Networking: Solid understanding of basic networking concepts, including DNS management, subnets, routing, and configuring Network Security Groups (NSGs) or firewalls.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to use basic CLI tools (like ping, traceroute, dig, or curl) to diagnose connectivity issues.
Monitoring & Operations
- Observability: Experience using monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Azure Monitor, or AWS CloudWatch) to track system health.
- CI/CD & Deployment: Basic understanding of Git and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins) to support dev team deployments.
- Documentation: Proven ability to write clear documentation, operational runbooks, and Markdown files.
Experience & Education
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a DevOps, Cloud Support, Systems Administration, or Site Reliability Engineering role.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience/bootcamp background).
