Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance monitoring and compliance reviews of business units to assess adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies and procedures.
  • Prepare compliance reports and present findings, compliance status, and key regulatory matters to Senior Management, the Audit Committee, and other relevant committees.
  • Report incidents of non-compliance with laws, regulations, or regulatory requirements to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
  • Provide advice and guidance to business units on compliance, regulatory matters, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Monitor changes in laws, regulations, notifications, directives, and regulatory requirements issued by relevant regulatory authorities, particularly the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC).
  • Analyze the impact of new regulatory requirements and communicate key developments to management and relevant departments, including coordinating implementation efforts.
  • Follow up on regulatory observations, recommendations, or examination findings and report remediation progress to management.
  • Oversee and ensure the Company's compliance with applicable Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review, develop, and update AML/CFT policies, procedures, manuals, and operational guidelines to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
  • Prepare AML/CFT risk assessment reports and related regulatory submissions as required by applicable laws and regulations.
  • Review and update policies, procedures, and operational manuals related to Compliance and Regulatory Compliance.
  • Organize communication initiatives and training programs to promote a strong compliance culture throughout the organization.
  • Support the enhancement of internal control systems and compliance risk management frameworks.
  • Leverage AI tools and digital technologies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of compliance operations, regulatory monitoring, reporting processes, and document management.
  • Support the development, automation, and continuous improvement of compliance processes and workflows.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Law, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in Compliance, Legal & Compliance, Regulatory Compliance, Company Secretariat, or other related functions within the non-life insurance industry or financial institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of non-life insurance regulations, OIC requirements, and AML/CFT laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, regulatory coordination, and/or policy and procedure review.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret legal and regulatory requirements, assess business impact, and provide practical recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to utilize AI tools and digital solutions to enhance efficiency and support compliance functions.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Direct experience in the non-life insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of or experience in Corporate Governance, Company Secretariat, and AML/CFT compliance.
  • Experience in liaising and coordinating with the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) and other regulatory authorities.
  • Experience in preparing reports and presentations for the Audit Committee and/or Board of Directors.

Job Summary
