Responsibilities
Workshop Operations Management:
- Plan, schedule, and allocate work to technicians based on priorities, skill levels, and service capacity.
- Ensure efficient use of labor and resources, maintaining a balance between vehicle volume and technician workload.
- Monitor the progression of repairs, ensuring timely completion and minimizing downtime.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding their vehicles, ensuring clear communication on progress, delays, and additional repairs.
- Supervise and support a team of automotive technicians, ensuring high standards of work and productivity.
- Assist in training and developing technicians and other workshop staff.
- Perform quality checks on repairs and services to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Ensure all workshop activities meet the company’s quality control and safety policies.
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure that required parts are available for jobs, minimizing delays.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the parts manager.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- A qualification in automotive engineering, mechanics, or a related field.
- At least 2-3 years of previous experience in a similar role within an automotive workshop environment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle repairs, maintenance procedures, and automotive systems.
- Proficiency in the use of workshop tools, diagnostic equipment, and software.
- Knowledge of modern automotive technologies and diagnostic systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, ensuring high standards of service and productivity.
- Problem-solving abilities, with a focus on resolving issues efficiently.
