Responsibilities
Responsibilities
1. Oversee day-to-day casting and melting operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production of aluminum components.
2. Control and optimize furnace, melt process, and casting processes to achieve target yields, cycle times, and metallurgical specifications.
3. Investigate process deviations, scrap, and defects; implement corrective actions and preventive measures to reduce rework and waste.
4. Monitor and analyze process parameters (temperature profiles, melt chemistry, solidification rates, etc.) and implement process controls to stabilize quality.
5. Lead root-cause analysis (5Why, Fishbone, FMEA) and drive continuous improvement projects to reduce Loss Time and increase equipment uptime.
6. Define and implement standard work, process flows, and work instructions for casting and melting operations.
7. Collaborate with QA, Maintenance, Production, to resolve quality issues and introduce process improvements or new methods.
8. Develop and maintain production KPIs (yield, scrap rate, first-pass yield, cycle time, downtime) and report progress to management.
9. Train operators and technicians on best practices, safety, and proper handling of molten metal and furnace equipment.
10. Support process trials, pilot runs, and scale-up activities for new products or tooling.
11. Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations related to metal casting and melting operations.
Qualifications
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
2. 2–4 years of hands-on experience in metal casting (aluminum preferred), melting, casting, or production control in a metal casting and environment.
3. Proven experience in process control, troubleshooting, and improvement of casting/melting operations.
4. Strong understanding of metallurgy of aluminum, heat treatment, and solidification behavior.
5. Familiarity with quality systems (ISO) and safety/environmental regulations in Casting and melting operations.
6. Good communication skills in English (reading/writing) and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
7. Strong problem-solving mindset, analytical skills, and ability to prioritize in a production setting.
8. Experience with process control instrumentation, or metallurgical lab testing is a plus.
