Production Technician - Rockwool (Thailand) Limited

Role summary:

The Production Technician is responsible for operating and maintaining Rockwool manufacturing equipment in a safe, efficient, and high-quality manner. Grounded in the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) philosophy, this role goes beyond machine operation — the technician is an active owner of their equipment, contributing to zero breakdowns, zero defects, and zero accidents through daily discipline and continuous improvement. 

Key responsibilities and Activities included:

Production Operations
• Operate Rockwool production lines including melting furnaces, spinning/fiberizing units, binders, curing ovens, and cutting/packaging equipment
• Monitor process parameters (temperature, pressure, fiber density, binder dosage) and adjust within set tolerances to maintain product quality
• Perform start-up, changeover, and shutdown procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) Autonomous
Maintenance
• Take ownership of assigned equipment through daily cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and tightening (CLIT routines)
• Identify and report abnormalities such as unusual noise, vibration, leaks, or wear before they result in breakdowns
• Maintain equipment logbooks and complete AM checklists accurately and on time
Quality Maintenance
• Conduct in-process quality checks including dimensional, density, and visual inspections of Rockwool products
• Identify and segregate non-conforming products; raise defect alerts using the site's quality management system
• Support root cause analysis for recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions
Continual Improvement / Kaizen
• Actively participate in Kaizen activities and small group improvement initiatives on the production floor
• Contribute ideas to reduce waste, downtime, and safety risks at the machine level
• Support OEE tracking by accurately recording availability, performance, and quality data
Safety, Health & Environment
• Follow all safety protocols including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), PPE requirements, and hot work procedures relevant to high-temperature Rockwool processes
• Conduct daily safety checks and participate in toolbox talks and safety audits
• Report near-misses, hazards, and incidents promptly and contribute to investigations
Training & Teamwork
• Support the onboarding and on-the-job training of new team members
• Participate in skills development programmes to achieve multi-machine competency
• Collaborate closely with maintenance technicians to ensure smooth handover of equipment issues 

Qualifications

• Vocational Diploma (High Vocational Certificate) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience working with high-temperature industrial equipment is an advantage.
• Able to read and understand SOPs, Work Instructions (WI), and engineering drawings.
• Basic English communication skills.
