Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end product development from concept to industrialization (sugar, marshmallow, chocolate decorations)
• Manage and deliver daily client samples with strong focus on speed, consistency, and presentation
• Supervise and develop a small R&D team (2-5 people), with active hands-on involvement
• Formulate and optimize recipes for cost, stability, shelf-life, and scalability
• Drive creative design and innovation of new decoration ranges aligned with customer expectations
• Ensure smooth scale-up from lab to factory production and troubleshoot technical issues
• Collaborate closely with production, QA, and sales teams on specifications and timelines
• Maintain accurate formulations, SOPs, and R&D documentation
• Ensure compliance with export market requirements (US FDA / EU / SEA / ANZ standards)
• Monitor ingredient trends and support transition toward clean label / natural solutions
Qualifications
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field
• 5-10 years’ experience in food R&D, preferably in confectionery or similar products
• Proven experience managing small teams in a factory environment
• Strong knowledge of formulation, food processing, and scale-up to production
• Hands-on, practical, and able to operate independently with limited supervision
• Good command of English (technical and communication)
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
• Experience in confectionery (sugar, chocolate, marshmallow) highly preferred
• Strong creativity and product design mindset (visual and aesthetic sensitivity is a plus)
• Knowledge of clean-label and natural ingredient reformulation
• Familiarity with HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000 standards
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Odoo) is a plus
• Ability to thrive in a small, agile and demanding company environment
• Autonomous, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
• Strong balance between creativity and industrial feasibility
• Motivation to deliver high-quality, innovative products for international clients
