Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Shadow Teacher / Support Assistant to provide dedicated one-on-one support for a child with global developmental delay and special physical and communication needs. The successful candidate will work closely with educators, therapists, and family to ensure the child’s safety, engagement, development, and inclusion in daily school activities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous personalized support in classroom and non-classroom settings.
- Assist with mobility, feeding, and personal care according to medical guidance.
- Implement therapeutic activities as recommended by occupational and physical therapists.
- Maintain a safe environment, preventing falls and choking hazards.
- Encourage social interaction and participation in educational activities.
- Document and report progress, concerns, and incidents regularly.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and family for consistent care.
Application Screening Criteria:
- Verified education/training certificates relevant to pediatric care or special education.
- Demonstrated experience providing one-on-one care for children with similar needs.
- Certifications in Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
- References confirming skills in developmental support, feeding assistance, and mobility help.
- Personal qualities of empathy, patience, and teamwork.
- Ability to maintain clear and detailed documentation.
- Availability aligned with school calendar (full-time).
