Job Summary
Under close supervision, performs engineering functions requiring knowledge and experience in engineering principles. This level builds on experience gained as Engineer1 by either obtaining more depth in specific subject area with the expectation that assignments are larger and more complex, or by gaining experience in more subject areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering role in business development, project development and project execution
- Perform project execution work to ensure that the engineering, procurement, and construction works are in accordance with the project requirement including requirement of quality, schedule, and budget.
- Prepare and verifies less complex engineering deliverables
- Perform research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
- Prepare engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
- Prepare flow diagrams and piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs)
- Prepare mechanical equipment list, pipeline list, valve list, and miscellaneous device list
- Prepare work packages to external engineering service providers and controlling of the work results, defines scope and prepares specification, bid evaluation, awards the packages, reviews external drawings and documents, attends inspection activities, prepares and review factory and acceptance test reports, support construction work
- Coordinate with team and provide supports on relevant issues to complete project effectively.
- Continue to learn and remains current on departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies and procedures and applies to assigned tasks as appropriate
- Continue developing knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks
- Support continuous improvement and change management efforts
- Apply engineering techniques and analyses for problems and methods.
