Job Purpose:
Responsible for quality assurance and quality control of hydraulic, piping, and fire protection systems at the construction site. Ensure that all installations comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, codes, and safety standards. Provide support for testing, commissioning, and handover of systems to clients.
1. QA/QC Inspection & Verification
• Review approved shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for piping and fire protection systems.
• Inspect delivered materials (pipes, fittings, valves, sprinklers, pumps, clean agent systems) against approved documents.
• Conduct inspections of pipe installation, welding, supports, and fire suppression systems at site.
• Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and follow up on corrective and preventive actions.
2. Testing & Commissioning Support
• Witness and verify testing activities such as hydrostatic tests, pressure tests, and flushing of piping systems.
• Support testing and commissioning of fire pumps, sprinkler systems, and clean agent/gas suppression systems.
• Ensure all deficiencies are rectified prior to handover to the Commissioning (Cx) team.
3. Documentation & Reporting
• Prepare and update QA/QC documents including ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), inspection checklists, and test reports.
• Maintain site records of inspections, material approvals, and test certificates.
• Support preparation of as-built drawings and QA/QC dossiers for project handover.
4. Coordination & Communication
• Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors for inspections and approvals.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines (civil, electrical, architectural) to resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical QA/QC input during site meetings and progress reviews.
5. Safety & Compliance
• Ensure that hydraulic and fire protection works meet applicable codes and standards (NFPA, FM Global, ASME, BS/EN).
• Enforce site safety protocols and monitor safe practices during testing and inspections.
