Responsibilities
- Develop and establish the company’s strategies, policies, and standards for Occupational Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and ISO management systems.
- Oversee safety and environmental operations across all construction projects to ensure consistent compliance with corporate standards.
- Manage and continuously improve the ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, and coordinate activities related to ISO 9001 as applicable.
- Conduct audits, inspections, and performance evaluations of HSE implementation across all projects, and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, client requirements, and safety and environmental standards.
- Lead risk management activities, investigate incidents and accidents, and implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and drive a strong safety culture throughout the organization, including planning and delivering HSE training programs.
- Liaise and coordinate with government authorities, clients, consultants, and certification bodies on HSE and ISO-related matters.
- Lead, manage, and develop HSE teams at both the head office and construction project sites nationwide.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 15 years of HSE experience in the construction industry, with at least 8 years in a corporate leadership or management role.
- Proven experience overseeing multiple large-scale construction projects, such as highways, bridges, railways, ports, airports, or other infrastructure developments.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, environmental laws, and ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Experience in managing ISO management systems and coordinating certification audits conducted by accredited certification bodies.
- Professional certifications such as ISO Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or other recognized safety-related certifications will be an advantage.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, develop strategic plans, and make sound decisions.
- Good command of English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to communicate in Chinese will be considered an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide to inspect and oversee construction projects.
