Role Description
The Key Account Manager (Modern Trade) is responsible for leading the overall strategy, planning, and execution for modern trade channels (such as Boots, Lab Pharmacy, Tops vita)
This role focuses on driving sales growth, increasing market share, and strengthening business relationships with key modern trade partners both chain and independent.
You will oversee trade negotiations, in-store execution, promotional planning, and cross-functional coordination to ensure seamless implementation of all sales and marketing initiatives within the channel.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Modern Trade Pharmacy Channel, with key responsibility to develop channel strategies and execution plans aligned with overall sales direction.
- Oversee trade operations between the company and customers, ensuring smooth order fulfilment and delivery within committed timelines.
- Review and verify trade expense documents, coordinate approvals, and prepare summary reports.
- Handle customer complaints and operational issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize business impact.
- Conduct market visits to collect competitive intelligence and identify opportunities for channel development.
- Ensure effective implementation according to channel strategy, achieving KPIs and sales targets.
- Create and implement channel development initiatives that drive business growth and increase market share within the assigned channel.
- Develop and maintain strong commercial partnerships with key customers to build long-term, sustainable business relationships.
- Negotiate and manage trade agreements, trade deals, and return policies, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Monitor trade operations including in-store visibility, promotion execution, POSM implementation, and new product listings according to marketing and account plans.
- Visit key outlets regularly to monitor product display, promotional execution, and overall brand presentation.
- Collaborate with Trade Marketing to plan and forecast POSM, NPD samples, promotional quotas, and stock requirements for the total channel.
